MEMBERS of Reading Fencing Club turned on the style to return with an impressive medal haul from the Junior and Senior BB&O Epee and Sabre Championships.
In the men’s epee, Callum Maynard was crowned champion after seeing off clubmate Russell North into the runners-up spot.
Dave Hillier and Simon Readman finished third equal, and Jeff Rosenbaum took sixth position after losing in the quarter-finals.
Liz Sandford took top prize in the women’s epee, while Maynard completed a memorable personal double by also securing the men’s sabre title with a superb performance.
Niall Maynard finished fourth in that event.
In the Under 18 girls event, Charlotte Williams was victorious, with her success matched in the U16 boys’ event by Matthew Bowyer.
Gregor MacLeod won the U14 event – where Oskar Strugar came sixth – and Emily Williams took bronze in the U16 girls’ competition.
