AN injury-time goal in either half halted Woodley Town's two-month unbeaten run and helped Holyport move to the top of Hellenic Division One East.
Port added to their early opener with a goal towards the end of each half and Nick Edwards' strike in the 80th minute wasn't enough as Woodley spurned a glut of chances to eventually lose 3-1.
The defeat sees Cyril Fairchild's team fall 10 points behind the new Division One leaders, but the manager saw plenty of positives to take into the second-half of the season.
"I couldn't have asked for more from the team, they gave it their all and on another day we could have won 4-1. It was mistakes that cost us in the end and the fact that Holyport took their chances, which we didn't," said the boss.
"We dominated the match, matched them all over the pitch but didn't put the ball in the net. We have to learn from our mistakes as all our defeats this season have come from defensive errors."
