In contrast to the problems encountered by the Reading & District Sunday League, the Reading Football League has escaped relatively unharmed from the Arctic blast.
So far only two Saturdays, December 19 and January 9, have been lost to the snow, although the predicted thaw is unlikely to arrive in time to save the majority of this weekend's programme.
And league general secretary Mark Rozzier confirmed there was no need to start looking at contingency plans just yet.
He said: "Amazingly we seem to have got away with it so far, and our fixtures secretary Andy Awbery has processed all the weeks until the end of the season and we don't even need to schedule any midweek fixtures yet.
"I'm sure that will change and we will have the odd game, but we have been very lucky so far and we would usually expect to have lost a couple of weekends by now.
"Most teams have reached halfway in their seasons, and even the ones who haven't are not very far behind."
