BERKSHIRE Shire Hall bounced back from their previous week’s thrashing by Berks, Bucks & Oxon promotion-hopefuls Crowthorne with a resounding 45–20 win over Aldermaston.
The kick off was delayed due the referee’s flat tyre, but Shire Hall were soon motoring thanks to a hat-trick of tries from winger Rhys Stewart in the first half.
Aldermaston replied with a breakaway try, but Shire Hall led 23–13 at the break.
The visitors cut the gap to 26–20 with another score after the break, but Shire Hall pulled away thanks to a try from prop Jack Proctor and another from skipper David Lloyd-Williams.
Stewart also crossed for his fourth touchdown equalling Shire Hall’s record for tries scored by one player in a match to finish with an impressive 30-point hail.
Fly-half Tim O’Sullivan sealed the victory for Shire Hall when he dabbed down in the corner.
