Anyway, it's back to business in earnest this Saturday as we really start to get into the sharp end of the season and with the time fast approaching when, for some, hopes and dreams can be fulfilled or, alternatively, brought crashing down around your ears.

Sadly, or fortunately, I don't think that either applies to my Reading boys who are, I'm sure, going to finish mid-table in South West One East and stay exactly where they are for next season and which, in fact, will suit us down to the ground.

Anyway there are still nine games left to play and, I guess, anything could happen and they have certainly got a long journey in front of them this Saturday playing away to Towcestrians.

For those of you who are wondering, Towcester is in Northamptonshire and until two seasons ago they had played all of their league rugby in the Midlands Division.

Having won promotion from Midlands 2 East (South) at the end of the 2010/11 season, the following season they finished a tidy fifth in Midlands 1 East but were reassigned to the South West leagues for 2013/14.

Anyway, if the boys play like they did against Swindon a fortnight ago, it should be a great match - as should the one being played at the Old Bath Road ground where National 3 South West leaders Redingensians Rams take on the first side to beat them in the league this season, Weston Hornets.

Ironic isn't it that it comes directly after Rams suffered their second loss of the season away to Bracknell the Saturday before last.

Hopefully they'll forget all about that and reap revenge on the Somerset side which they really have to do as they are only five points ahead of the chasing pack now!

Reading Abbey are, like us, on the road and looking to maintain their unbeaten BB&O Premiership form with their 12th successive win of the season away to Phoenix.

And, across the road from us, Berkshire Shire Hall, currently sixth in the BB&O Championship table entertain Didcot looking to make up for their 28-20 defeat at home to Harwell a fortnight ago.

By the way, a lot of good things are happening at their place right now with new players, new administrators all pouring in so it will be interesting to see what develops!

From a personal point of view I wouldn't mind being at The Stoop on Saturday because - yep you've guessed it - Harlequins are up against my boyhood heroes Bath in LV= Cup action and what a cracker that should be!

And, finally, good luck also to London Irish who face a tough LV= Cup match away to Scarlets.

I guess they'll be parading their new boy and scrum half Brendan McKibbin. He's actually Scottish but has been playing `down under' for last season's Super Rugby Champions the New South Wales Waratahs where he has amassed 234 points in 59 appearances.

Anyway that's it from me for this week. Enjoy your rugby!
