Fin Rossiter, from Bucklebury, will face the Worcester Warriors, London Irish, Northampton Saints and Gloucester academies in rugby arenas such as Sixways and Franklin’s Gardens next year as part of the 28-man squad which was chosen from more than 300 schools-selected players.

The 13-year-old, who was captain of the U13 Lambs last year, will also be jetting off for a seven-day rugby camp in Portugal next March as part of the squad’s programme – a system Fin’s older brother Sam came through all the way up to Under-18 level.

Fin (pictured below) was nominated for the Lambs trial earlier this month by rugby coach Chris Sutton after claiming an impressive try tally from his barnstorming runs as captain of Pangbourne College’s U14 team.

Mr Sutton commented, “Fin has made an outstanding start to his time at Pangbourne, being Captain of the Under-14 team this year and is the top try scorer with 17 tries from five games as a big, ball-carrying No. 8.

“He is an excellent all-round role model for the college and I’m absolutely delighted with his achievement, having been captain of the Lambs last year. This is a great experience for him and his rugby future is looking very bright.”
