There were 42 teams involved in the tournament at Rosehill, including 12 in the ladies’ section.
Competitions were seeded to even it out and continuous sunshine drew the spectators in. With the emphasis on enjoyment more than winning, Crowthorne RFC took the honours in the top-seed group.
Marshy’s Mad Pluckers, sponsored by Crown on the Bridge, Caversham, took the Plate competition.
Reading Abbey Ladies were beaten by eventual group winners Worcester RFC by a single try.
Reading Abbey hold open training sessions at Rosehill every Tuesday and Thursday from 7.30pm.
