LONDON Irish snapped their seven-match Premiership losing streak with a deserved victory at Worcester Warriors on Saturday afternoon.

In the penultimate match of the league campaign, Exiles got off to a bright start, with a couple of Tom Homer penalties giving them a 6-0 lead.

And although Andy Goode managed to half the deficit for Worcester, Steven Shingler then set up Joe Ansbro to score the opening try of the match.

Homer added the extras, but Worcester responded with a second penalty from Goode.

The visitors, though, continued to control the match and extended their advantage when Homer collected a Jonathan Joseph grubber and touched down.

It took Warriors until the hour mark to hit back as Miles Benjamin scored their first try.

But Exiles responded with a fine try from Delon Armitage that Homer converted to make the score 25-11.

There was still time for Marcel Garvey to cross for a consolation score for the hosts but it did not change the final outcome.

Exiles complete their season with a home match against Gloucester on May 5.
