Rise keeps faith in Gensians side

COACH Alun Rise has named an unchanged side for the first time this season as Redingensians visit Exmouth in National Three South West on Saturday.

The trip to Devon is a great chance for Gensians to build on the derby win over Reading last weekend.

That success gave them a biggest points tally ever against their Sonning rivals and a first win for 25 years.

Rise enthused: "Some of the stuff from the lads was top drawer. They worked hard in training, especially on the lineout and back-row, and it paid off.

"It was good for the club to beat Reading for the first time in the league. It got a monkey off our back.

"Now we have to keep up the intensity and have some more massive training

sessions this week. Then we can go down to Exmouth with the right attitude."

Gensians can ill afford to take the Cockles lightly despite a reasonably comfortable 34-23 home win over them in the autumn.

Since then the Devon side have moved well clear of the relegation zone thanks to a five match unbeaten run, which was only ended by a narrow defeat at Oxford Harlequins last Saturday.
