ABBEY secured their first away win in over a year with a comfortable 34-8 victory at rock-bottom Wootton Bassett on Saturday.
The visitors dominated all phases of the game and scored five tries to their opponents' one to move closer to safety in South West One East.
Persistent overnight rain meant the game had to moved to the Ballards Ash Sports Ground - put this did not faze Abbey, who were inspired by number eight Steve Willis.
The veteran forward scored two of the Rosehill side's five tries, an achievement matched by skipper Tom Waterhouse, who played at centre.
Henry Williams touched down for the other try.

Reading
READING slipped to their sixth National Three South West defeat in seven games on Saturday at Cleve.
And perhaps just as worryingly, the Green Machine failed to score a single point for the third time in six matches, going down 12-0.
Reading lost fly half Tom Goodhew just before kick-off and prop Richard Pryor five minutes into the game. And their bad luck continued as they were punished for two mistakes with the only tries of the game.
Despite the disappointing scoreline, Reading defended doggedly throughout and performed well in the lineout.
They will, though, be looking for a reaction on Saturday when fourth-placed Chinnor travel to Holme Park.

Gensians
DIRECTOR of rugby Gary Reynolds was far from happy as Gensians produced a lacklustre display at Oxford to slip down to sixth place in National Three South West.
He said: "Admittedly we have been disrupted by injury but we looked like a side that had nothing to play for.
"There was that feeling any outside chance of a play-off spot had gone with the loss to Old Patesians.
"Quins were quicker to the breakdown, sharper in the tackle and better in the set piece. We only turned up for the last 10 minutes."
Gensians trailed 23-0 before getting on the scoreboard in the second half through teenager Aaron Hopkins' first senior try.
James Watkins and Tom Allen added late scores for the Old Bath Road side, but could not save them from a 37-19 defeat.
GENSIANS: Abrahams; Clements, Reynolds, Dunn, Flynn (Allen); Matthews, Raitt; Dewland, Saunders, Baker; Randall, Davies; Watkins, Hopkins, Stapley.
