REDINGENSIANS 3rds were thumped 45-8 by BB&O One table-toppers Maidenhead 2nds at Braywick Park.

Gensians are fourth in the table, but they fell victim to a fine performance by the league leaders in one of the few games to survive the Beast from the East and Storm Emma.

There was more success for Redingensians 2nds, however, as they moved within a point of Zoo Sports Shield Division Two leaders Hertford 2nds following a come-from-behind 24-10 victory against Wimbledon 2nds.

The Titans were sloppy from the outset and conceded an early converted try and a penalty to trail 10-0 after 10 minutes, with things getting worse when second row Ryan Kinsella was sin-binned a quarter of the way through the game.

However, Gensians withstood their numerical disadvantage to go into the interval still only trailing by 10, and Kinsella made amends for his earlier indiscretion by crossing two minutes into the second half.

Tom Humberstone missed the conversion, but another try levelled matters on 52 minutes.

Wing Roy Wilkinson went over to put his side in front, Humberstone adding the extras this time, and the bonus-point was secured late on as captain and man-of-the-match Jamie Guttridge went over.
