THE Oratory School 1st VII played some excellent rugby to win the Plate competition at the Windsor RFC Schools competition.
Captain George Probyn led by example as his side ran in six tries to defeat Haileybury in the final, and Valentine Chukuwonye, Tom Croisdale, and Matthew McDonald were all strong in contact situations.
They complemented the elusive running of Matteo Matricardi, Tom Shaw, Daniel Anderson Jeffs, Charlie Gibbon and Iwan Macrae.
Meanwhile, Irish raiders St Gerard’s, from Bray, were crowned triumphant in the Under 13 competition held at The Oratory. They won all six of their matches during the day.
The Plate winners were St. John’s Beaumont, from Egham, while the 2nd VII main competition was claimed by Westminster Cathedral Choir School.
St Gerard’s completed a memorable day by winning the Bowl event.
In the Under 11s competition, The Oratory Prep School defeated Moulsford 20-10 in the final, and they completed a double in the B competition by winning all four of their group games to take the title.
