The 200m breaststroke swimmer finished behind Ross Murdoch and Michael Jamieson in tonight's final.

A large number of enthusiastic Bracknell & Wokingham Swimming Club members had gathered at Bracknell Leisure Centre to watch the heats and final to cheer on Willis - and they were not left disappointed by his impressive performance in a quick race.

Afterwards, Willis was philosophical about his bronze medal for England, saying "It was not the time I wanted but it's a podium finish."

His time of 2min 09.87 seconds was just outside his lifetime best.

Jamieson won silver in the Olympic 200m breastroke final at London 2012 but he was shocked by fellow Scot Murdoch who broke the Commonwealth record with a quick time of 2.07.30.
