Olympic dreams: Alex McCarthy is in Stuart Pearce's latest Team GB squad.

READING goalkeeper Alex McCarthy has been included in the latest Team GB 35-man squad for next month's London 2012 Olympics.
The 22-year-old had been named in Stuart Pearce's original 80-man list and has now survived the first cut.
The squad will eventually be cut down to 18 players next month with four others placed on standby.
McCarthy previously played under Pearce for England Under 21s.

Report commentHmmm...... Didn't think that the Olympic squad was being announced until next month so Alex McCarthy hasn't made it yet has he......?? As correctly reported on the Reading FC website he's made it through the latest cut and is down to the last 35 with the final 22 to be chosen next month......
