IT'S ALL OVER, READING WIN 1-0 AND ARE PROMOTED INTO THE PREMIER LEAGUE WITH TWO GAMES OF THE SEASON REMAINING.
Southampton were 3-1 winners against Peterborough so Reading will remain three points clear of them if they win tonight, which they are just minutes away from doing now!
Sorry we're still having technical problems at the Madejski. But just as the news filters through that West Ham have drawn 1-1 with Bristol City, MIKELE LEIGERTWOOD gives Reading the lead against Nottingham Forest. As it stands, Reading will secure promotion to the Premier League this evening! Just five minutes left for them to hold on for victory.
9.09pm. Sorry - more technical problems.
Anyway, we're off again. No changes at the interval.
Saints now 3-0 up at Posh.
HALF TIME: Reading 0 - 0 Nottingham Forest
And it's still goalless here after a scrappy first half of few chances.
Jason Roberts had a goal rightly scrubbed out for a foul by Noel Hunt on Forest keeper Lee Camp.
And Royals stopper Adam Federici made a decent stop to keep out a Dexter Blackstock effort.
Other than that, it's been a pretty poor game so far and can only get better.
At the moment, West Ham are still drawing at Bristol City and Southampton are 2-0 up at Peterborough United.
45 mins. One minute of added time goes up as Jason Roberts teased the Forest midfield - then kicks the ball out of play for a throw in. Sums it up so far, really.
43 mins. And still no sign of the deadlock being broken. It's been a scrappy half of limited chances - but the game is still there to be won for the Royals.
40 mins. Brilliant legwork from the Royals to win back possession - but a sloppy pass gives it straight back to Forest. It's been like that from the very start.
39 mins. Forest being pushed back now as Royals push forward. The noise has also gone up a notch or two.
38 mins. Reading chance as Jobi McAnuff's thunderous shot forced a great save from Lee Camp. That's woken the Reading fans.
37 mins. Frustrations from Forest now as Blackstock is penalised for climbing all over Gorkss. Clear foul that.
32 mins. Reading win a free-kick just outside the box as Joel Lynch rugby tackles Noel Hunt. Ian Harte whips it to the back post, Gorkss nods back but Camp holds comfortably.
30 mins. Chance for Forest as the ball is clipped in to Dexter Blackstock who spins, hold off Gorkss and loops a shot to the far corner. Adam Federici is down quickly to save.
25 mins. And still the deadlock remains. Forest are playing some decent football and frustrating the Royals.
But you sense McDermott's men have plenty left in the tank.
20 mins. Now Forest look like scoring as they hit the bar following a goalmouth scramble. But they, too, are penalised for a foul on keeper Adam Federici.
19 mins. Reading think they have scored after Jason Roberts heads home. But the referee is pointing for a foul against Noel Hunt on keeper Lee Camp in the build-up. No arguments there - Hunt shoulder barged Camp into the back of the net. Forty years ago you'd have got away with that.
18 mins. Still not much flow to the game here.
West Ham have just been pegged back to 1-1 at Ashton Gate.
13 mins. Reading showing more going forward now and should have won a corner off George Elokobi - only for the linesman to give a goal kick.
West Ham winning at Bristol City, Southampton still 2-0 up at Posh.
8.10pm. Firstly, apologies for the delay. Having major technical issues. it's a packed press box tonight and the wifi can't handle it!
Just one early chance to Forest to mention with Chris Gunter firing wide for Forest.
Royals haven't really got going yet.
8.02pm. And we're off on what could be an historic night for the Royals.
Reading in their hoops, Forest in black and red.
7.55pm. Royals chairman Sir John Madejski is out on the pitch, rousing the crowd and getting the place going.
It's a big night for him - and the town.
Southampton already 2-0 up at Peterborough.
7.45pm. The ground is filling up now and it's a capacity crowd tonight as thousands of Reading fans hope to see their side promoted.
But Forest boast a good record against the Royals recently and won 1-0 at the City Ground earlier this season.
Steve Cotterill's wide could also guarantee their place in the Championship next season with a win tonight.
7.20pm. The teams are in and just the one change for Reading. As expected Mikele Leigertwood returns for the injured Jay Tabb.
Reading (4-4-2): Federici - Cummings, Pearce, Gorkss, Harte - Kebe, Mullins, Leigertwood, McAnuff (c) - Hunt, Roberts. Subs: McCarthy, Church, Le Fondre, Afobe, Gunnarsson.
Nottingham Forest: Camp - Gunter, Chambers, Wootton, Elokobi, Anderson, Majewski, Lynch, Gueidioura, McGugan, Blackstock. Subs: Smith, Cunningham, Reid, Greening, Tudgay.
The referee is Gavin Ward.
7.10pm. And what a night we have ahead of us as Royals look to put the finishing touches to an unbelievable run by clinching promotion back to the Premier League's promised land.
It's now 14 wins in the last 16 Championship for Brian McDermott's men, a staggering run that has taken them to the very top with three matches left to play.
Now, if they can do better than West Ham fair at Bristol City tonight, Royals are up.
If Royals better West Ham's result at Bristol City they are promoted to the Premier League.
Some early team news is Mikele Leigertwood has passed a fitness test and will return to central midfield, probably in place of Jay Tabb.
More to follow....
