BRYNJAR Gunnarsson could be set to leave Reading Football Club this summer, according to reports.

Icelandic media are stating the 36-year-old will return to his homeland to finish his career.

Gunnarsson has played only two games this season and last pulled on a Reading shirt in a 2-1 home defeat by Barnsley on August 20, 2011.

In all, the popular ex-Stoke City, Watford and Nottingham Forest player has made 160 appearances for the Royals, scoring 10 goals.

He joined Reading in summer 2005 from Watford and became an integral part of Steve Coppell's squad in the Premier League years.

But injuries limited his appearances in latter years and has now returned to his former club, KR Reykjavik, who are in Europe next season.

Meanwhile, Royals Academy product Lawson D'Ath, 19, has begun training with Yeovil Town with a view to joining the Glovers on loan.
