READING have made a double signing with the capture of strike duo Jason Roberts and Tomasz Cywka.
Roberts has penned an 18-month deal at Madejski Stadium, bringing an end to his contract dispute with the Premier League club.
Cywka, meanwhile, has joined on a free transfer from Derby County until the end of the season, with the option to extend.
The 23-year-old was poised to return to his native Poland and sign for Slask Wroclaw on a three-and-a-half year contract until Royals intervened at the last minute.
Reading boss Brian McDermott has wasted little time in putting money provided by new owners Thames Sports Investment to use.
Roberts, who turned 34 yesterday, will wear the squad number 33 and goes straight into the squad for Saturday's home fixture against Bristol City (3pm).
Cywka takes the squad number 41 and could also be involved in the game.
The pair are well known to each other following their time together at Wigan Athletic.
Reading chairman Sir John Madejski said: "I am delighted that a man of Jason Roberts' calibre has decided to sign for Reading Football Club.
"He will bring enormous experience to the club, and I wish him every success in helping his new teammates."
