FULL TIME: Reading 0 -1 Hull City

FULL TIME: Reading 0 - 1 Hull City.

90+3 mins. Reading waste possession again, drawing groans from the home fans. That could be it.

90 mins. Four minutes of time added on. One last push required.

90 mins. Reading chance but Hunt's header from Antonio's long throw flies straight at Mannone.

88 mins. This is looking like a lost cause for the Royals now. But they do have a nack of scoring late goals, and we're not finished yet.

86 mins. Hull change as Rosenior limps off, with Joshua King coming on.

84 mins. Reading fans growing more and more frustrated as ex-Royals Liam Rosenior receieves treatment. Hull are time-wasting a little, but who can blame them?

81 mins. Hull sub sees Joe Dudgeon replace goalscorer Brady.

79 mins. Reading still trailing 1-0 and struggling to break down Hull's defence.

75 mins. Half chance for Reading as Noel Hunt's shot is blocked.

73 mins. Bit of edginess going around the Mad Stad now as Reading fans sense a second successive home defeat following their FA Cup exit to Stevenage.

71 mins. Early chance for Hull sub Fryatt who fires over.

The visitors have had one shot on target all game - and scored from it!

68 mins. Reading make an immediate chance as Adam Le Fondre replaces Church.

Royals players are furious with the officials after going behind. They were positive it was offside. But it won't change anything now.

67 mins. Reading 0 - 1 Hull City

Controversy here as Hull take the lead with a goal that looked miles offside.

Two Hull players looked offside when the ball was played forward by Paul McKenna. But the flag stayed down and ROBBIE BRADY kept his cool to slide the ball under Adam Federici.

67 mins. GGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLL

64 mins. Reading chance. Karacan pumps the ball into the box, Gorkss nods the ball across for Robson-Kanu who looks certain to score from six yards out. But somehow Hull skipper Jack Hobbs nudges the ball away in the nick of time.

62 mins. Hull change as Matt Fryatt replaces Cameron Stewart.

61 mins. Brilliant ball from Karacan down the right wing. Antonio chases it and wins a corner. Robson-Kanu swings it in, Mannone flaps again, but Harte's header drifts wide. Close that.

60 mins. Today's attendance is 17,556 including 1,016 Hull fans.

57 mins. Nearly an hour gone and this has got all the hallmarks of a 0-0. Let's hope that I'm wrong.

54 mins. Once again, a promising move breaks down by a poor pass from Reading, Church this time the culprit.

51 mins. Reading chance. A half-clearance runs to Shaun Cummings, 15 yards out, but the right-back blazes horribly over. That was a waste.

47 mins. No changes for either side at the break - and still no closer to a goal.

4.06pm. We're off after an interesting half-time to say the least after a Reading fan proposed to her husband-to-be on the pitch! Thankfully, he said yes!

HALF TIME: Reading 0 - 0 Hull City

And it's still goalless here after 45 minutes.

Reading should have gone ahead midway through the half when Alex Peare saw his shot blocked on the line by Paul McKenna.

Hull have rarely threatened, though Robbie Brady did go close with a long-range effort.

Royals were pushing for a goal towards the end of the half and putting Hull keeper Vito Mannone under increasing pressure - but the visitors survived.

45 mins. Another Reading corner causes havoc as Mannone struggles to control his six yard box. Looks frantic in there, but again Hull somehow clear.

45 mins. Harte whips in a free-kick from the left and Dawson heads it out from right in front of his own goal. Cool under pressure that.

42 mins. Noel Hunt's shot is blocked and Reading win a third corner in a matter of minutes. But Hull defend them, albeit somewhat frantically.

40 mins. It's getting darker and gloomier by the minute, and we could cewrtainly do with a goal.

There's plenty of good stuff to watch out there, but neither team looks that threatening in the final third.

Saying that, Pearce should have scored for Reading.

38 mins. Shot by Robson-Kanu, 25 yards, but easy for Mannone.

34 mins. Hull keeper Vito Mannone slices a backpass out for a Reading corner. He looks unsure today.

Corner swung in by Ian Harte but Hull clear.

32 mins. Hull force a corner, but Reading are strong in defence and clear their lines.

30 mins. Half-an-hour gone and very little in the way of goalmouth action overall.

The one clear-cut chance fell to Alex Pearce whose shot was blocked on the Hull line by Paul McKenna.

27 mins. Reading on the front foot now, but Hull holding firm at present.

23 mins. Unbelievable block by Hull's Paul McKenna on the goal-line. Hal Robson-Kanu's inswinging corner was flicked on and Pearce looked certain to score at the back post. Pearce was only a couple of yards out, he got a good connection, but McKenna was there to block it. Very unlucky for the Royals.

21 mins. Reading chance. Ian Harte whips in a brilliant free-kick from the foul below, but it evades both Alex Pearce and Kaspars Gorkss by a whisker.

20 mins. Hull booking. Andy Dawson yellow carded. Look an accidental collision with Simon Church.

15 mins. Brilliant from Jay Tabb. He chases down a lost cause and blocks a Mannone clearance leading to a Hull throw-in near the corner flag.

14 mins. Reading chance as a breakway sees Jem Karacan run into acres of space. But his final ball can't pick out Noel Hunt and Vito Mannone catches.

12 mins. Hull chance. Robbie Brady fired a sizzling 30-yard free-kick just over Adam Federici's bar. Close.

9 mins. Half-chance for Reading but the ball won't sit down for Antonio and his shot is blocked.

5 mins. Not too much happening at the moment. The teams are cancelling each other out.

2 mins. Reading chance. Antonio gets forward down the right and whips in a cross. Simon Church gets up early to glance a header just wide of the far post. Bright start from Royals.

3.03pm. We're off. Just the one change for Reading as Michail Antonio comes in for his first league start this season in place of the injured Jimmy Kebe.

2.50pm. Sir John Madejski steps onto the pitch to make a rousinig speech to the fans.

'I want everbody to know that, for the benefit of Reading Football Club, I have entered into an agreement with a company to take a shareholding in Reading FC," he said.

"This would be for the benfit of the club. Everything else will remain the same including the ethos of the club."

His comments drew warm applause form the Royals fans.

2.30pm. Good afternoon and welcome to what should be a cracking match.

Of course, news of a proposed £40 million take over of Reading FC is dominating the pre-match chat.

But let's get down to business for now.

The teams are:

Reading: Federici - Cummings, Pearce, Gorkss (c), Harte - Antonio, Karacan, Tabb, Robson-Kanu - Church. Hunt. Subs: Gunnarsson, Le Fondre, Mills, Andersen, D'Ath.

Hull City: Mannone - Rosenion, Dawson, McKenna, Chester, Hobbs (c), Stewart, Evans, McLean, Koren, Brady. Subs: Carson, Fryatt, Dudgeon, King, Cooper.

The referee is Graham Scott (Oxfordshire).

Welcome to the Madejski Stadium for live coverage of today's Championship promotion clash between Reading and Hull City.

The teams couldn't be closer going into the match, with just goal difference separating fifth-placed Royals and Hull in sixth.

Reading were beaten 1-0 at the KC Stadium back in August, but Brian McDermott's men have kicked on since then.

Last weekend's 2-1 comeback win at Watford was their seventh victory in their last nine league matches, making them the form team in the division.

Reading are due to give a fitness test to winger Jimmy Kebe, skipper Jobi McAnuff and midfield enforcer Mikele Leigertwood before the game.

Kick off is 3pm.
