READING'S Mathieu Manset came off the bench to score an injury-time winner and complete an amazing comeback at Bristol City.

Royals were second best for long periods after Albert Adomah put Robins in front before Brett Pitman doubled their lead in the 59th minute.

The home side also hit the woodwork twice through Nicky Maynard and Pitman while Royals keeper Adam Federici pulled off several excellent saves in what looked like a damage limitation exercise.

But two goals in two minutes from Royals skipper Jobi McAnuff and striker Adam Le Fondre put McDermott's men back on level terms and silenced the Ashton Gate crowd.

McAnuff picked the perfect time to open his account for the season when he smashed a shot in after Bristol failed to deal with Jay Tabb's cross in the 72nd minute.

Two minutes later it was 2-2 when David James palmed a weak shot into the path of Le Fondre and he tapped in from close-range.

And an incredible night's action was finally completed four minutes into injury time when Manset's clever back-heel dribbled past James and over the line.

The stunning win extended Reading's unbeaten Championship run to three matches.

McDermott's men face a stern test this Saturday when they host high-flying Middlesbrough (3pm ko).
