Brendan Rodgers - sack him or back him

Should he stay or should he go?
Has the time come for Brendan Rodgers to be sacked, or should the underfire Royals boss be given more to time to turn things around at the Madejski Stadium?
Does Sir John Madejski need to act now to prevent the Royals slipping into League One and axe Rodgers, or should the chairman back his manager to get things right after a difficult summer of transition.
Let us know what you think and cast your vote in our Chronicle poll.

Paying all that compensation to Watford, surely we have to give him time?! Perhaps Tommy Smith is his "kind of player," so it's a shame Reading tried to be underhand and not pay the asking price.
The guy is so arrogant, and his interviews are simply astounding in their content.
He's simply not good enough. How Watford must be laughing.

Its got to be the boot! He is a joke.
This has been a matter of time after his shoking transfer moves and relentless arrogant interviews.
Beg Sir Coppell to save us.

This season was all about rebuilding, so success is something we can defer to some extent, but we must not risk relegation. If, after the game on Monday, we look like staying in the relegation zone, then he has to go.
There's a Facebook group wanting Parkinson to replace him, with Coppell replacing Hammond. Maybe not such a daft idea?

We new it was going to be bad and it would take time to blend the players into a team. However, Rogers simply seems to have no idea who he wants to play chopping and changing team selection week in week out. What chance have the players, who arn't that bad, actually got of building up any sort of understanding with this sort of approach. Time to go me thinks...

Nonsense - things turned at Watford when Malky MacKay was added to the coacghing staff.
This arrogant no-mark needs to clear off sharp*sh. Phoning SSC to thank him for bequeathing a talented set of players?!?! Just who the hell does he think he is?
No doubt SSC listened politely and thanked him for his call as he's that kind of bloke. If that had been me I'd told him where to go!!

I was happy to back BR when he joined and understand that the club has changed. However, League 1 football is not an option. The players are good enough to maintain mid-table at least and they need to be told that. Lose to Leicester and it should be over. Can't understand how SJM would want to risk it anymore, it's his money that's going down the drain?! We urgently need a goalscorer to bring some confidence into the team. Players don't know if they're part of his plans or not. Now BR says that he needs 'his' kind of players, that won't help team morale!

Please, please, please don't sack him yet.
After the sheer comedy of the Tommy Smith saga, then you actually paid us for McAnuff, this is the icing on the cake to see the messiah fail. I'm sure everything he learnt under Jose will see him through.
You should be made to wait until he realises why everyone hates him. That may take a while yet though if the comments he made after we played you are anything to go by. He still thinks it's because he left us !
Lol ! It's all about your (lack of) integrity Brenda.
Give him to Christmas and then Madjeski can sack him. That should give someone enough time to save you as I have no beef with Reading FC.
Don't expect him to walk away though. Can you see someone that arrogant resigning ? Especially when he doesn't have "his kind of player". Not even the ones he signed ?

Things would have been sooo much better if only tommy smith had signed instead of choosing the premiership!!!!!
Feel sorry for reading i really do. He did turn things round at watford... but mackay had already started that in his 5 games as caretaker.
We were annoyed at him, now we're laughing.
But like 'you 'orns' i have no beef with reading and really do hope you get it sorted... but with a diff manager.

Hornet Cornet here,
I have to say that Judas has got everything coming to him. He has no morals, no scruples and a hugely self-inflated opinion of himself and his ethics. Reading need to get rid of this waster pronto otherwise you'll have the pleasure of playing teams like Southend next season, not good eh.
I could go on another rant about Judas Rodgers bu****hink I'll go and sit smugly in front of the Championship table instead, gazing happiluy at the impending doom that will descend upon Judas when he gets sacked.

Dear reading Football fans:
When Brendan Rodgers came to Reading his ideas could have been seen as refreshing. For example he stated he wanted to play European football. However after even \'poor\' games he appears to always be positive about the future direction, even after defeat after defeat. I do wonder if he has been watching the same game as me on occasions. I am aware that Scott Davies wants to stay at Wycombe. I wonder why?
I big question is how long does Sir John give Brendan to change things around? Sir John is a business man and I therefore wonder when is he going to get involved with \'sorting out\' this mess. I am not convienced that unless there are changes (certainly before the tranferee window)Reading will be in the first division next year.
I already think Reading will be bottom on the table by the end of November. The crowds are staying away as the results continue to be poor. I travel from Dorset each game and as a season ticket holder do wonder why I paid for 2 tickets this year. I along with many others will not renew this commitment next season as if I believe, Reading will be relegated and why travel 162 miles (round trip) to watch what can only de discribed as awful clueless football.
I don\'t normally write on messaging blogs but can the management at Reading FC please make some positive moves before the situation is too late.

Dear Royals,
I'm guessing that you're starting to realise what us Hornets think of Judas? If he's still in charge at the end of the season then he's going to get a right rollocking off of us lot. The treatment he received at the Madjeski was a little sampler of the abuse he'll get at out place.
Happy Royalling

Like some people on this thread, I realise Reading have to rebuild and because of that I was willing to give to Rodgers a chance when he came here.
However, he seems intent on paying homage to Terry Bullivant's reign of misery.
And just like TB, what exactly IS the point in letting decent players go if you're not willing to get some decent replacements?
If the players don't know if they're part of his plans or not then that's a classic sign of bad management!
Maybe Sir John should stop holding a candle to Cilla and take a good look at the mess Reading are in!

All of our Watford Supporter gang likes what kind of prediciment that JUDAS is in and laughs. He said that he would give us survial he did that, he said that he he was here for the long haul he went to you.
He said to ur club that he will get you promoted, he will get you relegated at this moment. Thanks for buying our wasters as we are doing better without them.
For us Malky Mackay is 100 times better than rodgers. If you sack him, to come to us and poach him.
Have fun in Oldham and Carlisle and yeovil next season.

Dear Priesty,
How much did Judas waste on McNotEnuff? The chances that Mobi JacEnuff wasted go to show that he is sub-standard as a striker / front man. We saw this at Watford yet Brenda still managed to furnish our pockets with silly money for a rubbish player.
As for Brenda putting out a good team each week, he never sticks with the same team nor formation so how can he be putting the same team out every week?
Dont get me wrong, the more he loses, the happier us Hornets will be but, at the end of the day (and as Ollis Chateau said), we're happy and the unRoyals aren't.
Bon nuit mon pot.

Yes we maybe in the bottom three atm, but we are playing well and I am sure the strike force will improve to get the hat full goals we deserve both home and away.
I'm happy atm with the re-building process and don't think we be relegated and we will be playing Watford next season.
But hats off to you guys, you are certainly pulling in the results, but it is a long hard season.
