MARCUS Hahnemann has spoken of the duel he faces with Wayne Hennessey for the No.1 jersey at Wolves.

Ex-Reading goalkeeper Hahnemann penned a one-year rolling contract with the Premier League newboys this morning (Wednesday).

But the 37-year-old does not believe he is Mick McCarthy"s automatic choice between the sticks, insisting Wales stopper Hennessey is currently the main man.

However, Hahnemann also insisted he will do everything he can to help develop 22-year-old Hennessey"s career at Molineux.

'I spoke to Mick McCarthy about it,' said Hahnemann. 'Wayne Hennessey has the number one shirt, it"s his position right now.

'You don"t win the title with bad goalkeeper who has played almost every game. He"s a quality player and an excellent prospect so hopefully I can add a little bit of experience to that.

'I will help out Wayne in any way I can and I"m sure the two years I spent with Reading in the Premier League will be a major advantage.

'Obviously I want to play as many games as I can but if I can also take on that role of helping the young guys come along then I am more than happy to do so.'
