GEORGE Evans urged Reading FC fans to crank up the volume to help Royals take all three points when they face Preston North End this afternoon (3pm ko).

Former Manchester City midfielder Evans admitted the atmosphere in Reading's 1-0 Good Friday win over Queens Park Rangers was one of the best he had seen at Madejski Stadium.

The 23-year-old midfielder hopes supporters can replicate that same atmosphere when they line up against Alex Neil's Preston.

He said: "The atmosphere was brilliant (Against QPR) It was up there with the play-offs when we played Fulham.

"It spurrs you on as players so hopefully we'll see them there on Saturday.

"We need to start winning more games. Home games are massive for us.

"We know it's been a difficult season but you can beat anyone in this league.

Preston are not an easy team to beat. When I look around and see the quality of this team I know we can beat anyone but we just have to go out there and show it.

"We need to show that we have better players and that will to go out and get the three points.

"You have to take it one game at a time. We know there situation we're in but we can't look too far in front."

"Evans could be in line for a spot in Paul Clement's starting XI after Dave Edwards was sent off in Royals' 3-0 thumping at Villa Park on Tuesday night.

Tommy Elphick and Paul McShane remain sidelined but leading goalscorer Jon Dadi Bodvarsson could make his return.

Yann Kermorgant will also be available for selection after serving a suspension against Aston Villa.

The Chronicle will bring you live coverage from Madejski Stadium from 1.30pm.
