SONE Aluko's stunning solo goal against QPR is among the nominations for the Sky Bet Championship goal of the month for March.

Reading winger Aluko netted a brilliant winner at Madejski Stadium last Friday to earn Paul Clement a 1-0 victory in his first match in charge.

It was also Royals' first win in 10 matches and was a massive three points in their fight for Championship survival.

Picking the ball up just inside his own half, Aluko showed great skill to skin QPR's Jake Bidwell before cutting in from the right and hammering a blistering shot past Alex Smithies from more than 20 yards.

It was Aluko's third goal for the season following his switch from Fulham last summer.

Reading Chronicle:

Reading celebrate after Sone Aluko's stunning winner against QPR at Madejski Stadium.

Aluko faces competition from Cardiff City's Sol Bamba and Millwall's Ben Marshall for the gong.

The winners are chosen by a fan poll on skysports.com

The shortlist for the poll is decided by a judging panel following suggestions from supporters via Twitter.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, Sky Bet Sponsorship Executive Michael Holinski and EFL Senior Media Manager Rob Meaden.

Nominations:

Sol Bamba – Brentford v CARDIFF CITY – 13th March.

A centre-back? Really? Bamba showed the awareness of a true goalscorer as he chased down a bouncing ball, swivelled on a sixpence and bulged the net with a blistering shot.

Ben Marshall – Barnsley v MILLWALL – 17th March.

As he collected possession on the left, Marshall knew exactly what he wanted to do. Skill matched ambition as he jinked inside and judged the loft on his angled shot to perfection.

Sone Aluko – READING v Queens Park Rangers – 30th March.

All of Aluko’s tricks were evident in this corker. A lovely feint, searing pace, close control, dribbling skill and the single-mindedness to wallop a 20-yarder into the roof of the net.

Voting is now open until Tuesday, April 10. The winner will be announced on Friday, April 13.
