UNDER pressure Reading FC boss Jaap Stam has been tipped as a contender for the vacant position at Leeds United.
The Whites parted company with former manager Thomas Cristiansen on Sunday night after a winless start to 2018.
And Royals boss Stam, who has won just one league game since December 2, 2017, has been backed at 14/1 to take the helm at Elland Road.
Whispers on social media suggested Stam would leave Berkshire in the coming days following Royals' 2-0 defeat against Millwall on Saturday.
But Dutchman Stam refused to be drawn on speculation surrounding his future when quizzed after the game.
"It is how it is," he said.
"You're looking at yourself and what you're trying to do."
He also told BBC Radio Berkshire: "The board and the owners want to play football from the back, they want to play in a certain way."
