READING FC Women return to Adams Park this Sunday searching for their second win of the FA Women's Super League 1 season.

Kelly Chambers' side will be brimming with confidence going into this weekend's home clash against Birmingham City (2pm ko).

Here's all you need to know about the game:

Reading will enter Sunday’s clash against Birmingham City full of confidence after they recorded an incredibly impressive 3-0 win at Liverpool last week.

Birmingham also head into the game on the back of a win, after narrowly beating newly-promoted Everton, and both sides will look to maintain momentum as they looked to build on sixth and seventh place finishes in the FA WSL Spring Series.

Form Guide:

Reading have endured a roller-coaster start to the season, beginning with a frustrating 1-0 home defeat to Sunderland.

But they more than made up for that with a dominant 3-0 victory over Liverpool last Friday night, thanks to a wonder-strike from Fara Williams in addition to efforts from Remi Allen and Brooke Chaplen.

Birmingham are currently level with Reading on three points and have also had a mixed start to the campaign.

They began with a heavy 6-0 defeat to Spring Series champions Chelsea but bounced back to edge past Everton 2-1 a week later.

Previous meetings:

The two sides have played each other as recently as May, when they met in their Spring Series fixture, sharing the points in a 1-1 draw.

In that match Birmingham’s Charlie Wellings scored in the first minute, but Reading equalised through a Lauren Bruton penalty, despite going down to ten players at the end of the first half when Jo Potter saw red.

One to watch:

Fara Williams (Reading) The England legend proved she is still a force to be reckoned with last week when she scored a thunderous volley from 25 yards against her old club Liverpool.

The midfielder is England’s record appearance holder, with 165 caps, and aged 33 is still capable of running the show from the heart of midfield.

If Birmingham are not able to keep her under control, Williams could dominate proceedings and will be keen to add to the goal she scored last week.

What they said:

Reading defender Molly Bartrip said: “Next up is Birmingham at home and we know how tough that’s going to be as well.

“They’re a team that we consider to be on our level and we’ll need to be at our very best to get another result like the win against Liverpool.

“We have to win against Birmingham, there’s no point winning away at places like Liverpool if you can’t win your home games so that’ll be our focus now and I’m sure we’ll be able to do it.

“It’s exciting building up to a match, we’ll be playing good sides week-in, week-out and that’s why you play football, for all the excitement it gives you.”

Birmingham captain Emily Westwood said: “It’s going to be a tough match against Reading, especially after the great result they just had against Liverpool.

“They’ve strengthened their squad in the summer and brought in some really good players, including my old Everton teammate Fara Williams.

“Fara scored a worldie in that win against Liverpool, so she’s firing and she’ll be dangerous, as will the whole of their midfield, who are a strong unit.

“But we’ve got good players as well and we’ll focus on ourselves, looking to build on this win against Everton and push ourselves up the table.

“We’ll prepare really well during the week and we’ll go down to Reading with a gameplan aimed at getting us another three points.”
