LIAM Moore admitted frustration has started to build in the Reading FC dressing room - but said the squad will stick together to escape their winless rut.

Royals' 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Norwich on Saturday leaves them one point above the Championship drop zone.

Jaap Stam's men have now failed to win in their last five Championship matches and have picked up just two victories from their opening 10 fixtures.

The last time Royals tasted victory came in a 2-1 success over Steve Bruce's Aston Villa in mid-August.

But 24-year-old Moore insists there is plenty of time for Reading to turn their fortunes around.

And the former Leicester City star revealed there is frustration amongst his team-mates, but said the players remain united behind boss Stam.

He groaned: "Maybe we picked a few results we shouldn't have last season, and maybe there's an argument that we should have taken a point against Norwich, but we didn't.

"If we stick together I fully believe that with the characters we have in the dressing room that we can turn this around, go on a little run and put our form behind us.

"There's frustration but in a together kind of way, we're not winning games we want to win so there is frustration.

"But we're all together, the lads get on really well and we will get out of this little rut together.

"You can't change the past, you have to try and change the future."

Royals snapped up no fewer than seven new additions over the summer transfer window including club-record signing Sone Aluko from Fulham.

The former Fulham forward has claimed three goal assists in his last three games, and Moore is backed all of Royals' new-boys to shine.

"We're a welcoming group and they have all slotted right in," he asserted.

"It's always when you join a new club and you're not picking up results.

"You can see from their performances that they are putting in the effort and pushing in the right direction with us.

"When we start winning games you will probably start seeing more of their quality."

Moore was one of few shining lights for Reading against the Canaries and pulled a goal back for Stam's men with a brilliant header from Aluko's cross after James Maddison had fired Norwich in front.

It was his first goal of the season, second for the Royals and only the third of his professional career.

But Moore's efforts could not help Royals claim at least a point after a defensive howler saw Cameron Jerome left unmarked in the box to snatch a winner in the second-half.

And the defender said he wants to chip in with more goals this season.

"I just had the desire to get on the end of it," he stated.

"It's something I want to work on. I want to help the team by getting more goals.

"I managed to do that against Norwich but it's gone and forgotten now, we didn't win the game so it's not important at all."

A number of Reading players including Chris Gunter, Dave Edwards (both Wales) and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson (Iceland) are currently on international duty ahead of this week's World Cup qualifiers.

Royals return to Championship action on Saturday, October 14 with a trip to Leeds United.
