FORMER Reading FC defender Michael Hector has not given up on breaking into the Chelsea set-up since his £4m switch in August 2015.
The centre-back moved to the Premier League giants in a deadline day switch from Royals but is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Blues.
In fact, he spent last season out on loan at German top-flight side Eintracht Frankfurt before moving to Hull City on loan for the 2017/18 season.
The 25-year-old academy product played against Royals for the first time in his career last Saturday and helped The Tigers take a point at Madejski Stadium.
And Hector admitted it was a strange feeling to turn out against his former employers.
"It was nice to see some familiar faces," stated Hector.
"I spent a long time at Reading FC and it is a club which I owe a lot to.
"But today (Saturday) was a professional job."
Hector will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Hull before returning to Stamford Bridge next summer.
He told the Chronicle: "It took me four years to break into the first-team at Reading and obviously I want to get to the Premier League.
"Playing in Germany was an amazing experience, the stadiums are huge out there and it's the toughest league I have played in."
Hector made 88 appearances for Royals, scoring four goals.
