READING Under 23s secured their third straight 2-1 victory in Premier League 2 with an impressive win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Teenage striker Danny Loader was the hero on Monday night at New Bucks Head with both of Royals’ goals.

The hosts threatened early when Aaron Collins tested George Legg.

But Royals took the lead less than 10 minutes in, 17-year-old Loader finishing clinically from a pin-point Jordan Holsgrove corner.

Wolves hit back, but an Andrew Sealey-Harris effort was superbly blocked by Gabriel Osho before Legg denied Christian Herc.

Royals’ keeper then pulled off another vital save to keep out an Anthony Breslin curler.

The home side continued to put Royals under pressure after the break with Dan Armstrong and Collins firing narrowly wide.

But moments after Wolves stopper Harry Burgoyne had denied Josh Barrett, the hosts did equalise when Collins converted from a Sherwin Seedorf cross.

Reading, though, refused to settle for the point and, after Ben House had tested Burgoyne, they regained the lead when Loader took a Barrett pass in his stride before calmly slotting home.

And with Wolves piling men forward, Loader almost completed a hat-trick but was denied by Burgoyne when clean through.

The win lifted Scott Marshall’s youngsters up to fourth in the table.
