READING FC have today been linked with a swoop for Queens Park Rangers star Idrissa Sylla after he was left out of the club's pre-season trip to Germany.

The Guinean forwward future has been cast into doubt following Ian Holloway's squad selection and Royals are rumoured to have pounced on the situation.

Sylla, who joined QPR from Belgian side Anderlecht, made 33 appearances in the Championship last season, netting 10 goals.

The 26-year-old front-man scored his first goal for the Hoops in a 2-1 defeat to now Premier League side Huddersfield Town.

Royals have already added to their striking ranks having sealed Icelandic international striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on a three-year deal from Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, with veteran forward Yann Kermorgant out of action for the start of the season following surgery, it is understood Stam's striker-shopping spree has not yet concluded.

Stam is also rumoured to be keeping tabs on Tomer Hemed of newly-promoted Premier League side Brighton.
