READING FC kick-off their pre-season campaign with a double header against Queens Park Rangers tomorrow.

Jaap Stam will run the rule over his players for the first time this summer in back-to-back matches against Ian Holloway's Rangers.

Both games take place behind closed doors at Reading's Hogwood Park training ground, with the first kicking off at midday and the second at 3pm.

But Royals fans will have to wait a little longer to catch a glimpse of their team as no spectators are allowed.

It is thought Stam will field a mixture of first team and Under 23 players for the clashes against QPR, whom Reading also take on at Loftus Road in their Championship opener on Saturday, August 5 (3pm ko).

Meanwhile, further details have emerged of Reading's pre-season tour to Holland.

The squad will fly out on Wednesday, July 12 for a 10-day stay based in Oosterbeek and will play four more pre-season fixtures.

But due to stewarding regulations at the venue near Royals' training base there will be no access for spectators, with all games taking place behind closed doors again.

Stam's men will start against Belgian top-flight side KV Kortrijk on Saturday, July 15, with a 3pm kick off local time.

Then at 6.30pm on the same day Royals will tackle Turkish top division outfit Genclerbirligi.

Those games will be followed by a week of training and team bonding before Reading play another double header on Saturday, July 22.

At 11am local time they will take on Eredivise side Sparta Prague then at 1.30pm they will face Cercle Brugge from the Belgian second division.
