DUTCH forward Adham El Idrissi is being heavily linked with a move to Reading FC.

The 19-year-old most recently played for Jong Ajax – the club's second-string – and is well known to Royals boss Jaap Stam, the team's former coach.

But it is thought his contract with Ajax was cancelled earlier this month and he is now a free agent.

The Netherlands U19s international today posted a picture of an airport and a KLM plane on his Instagram account, with the words 'OMW to Reading' next to it, meaning 'On My Way to Reading.'

It is not yet known whether he is flying to the UK for a trial with the Royals or to sign a contract.

El Idrissi is a product of the Ajax youth system and made his debut for Jong in an Eerste Divisie game against FC Emmen last August.

He can play on either wing, though his preferred position is up front.

Stam made his first January signing last week with the capture of Tiago Ilori from Liverpool.
