JUST like any season ticket holder, I’m no stranger to late drama at the Madejski Stadium.

Last Saturday we were a team that looked much better than the opposition and notably more solid than in the abysmal defeat to Brentford last week.

However we still weren’t quite back to the scorching performances we saw in our recent eight-game unbeaten streak.

Ex-Royals striker Matej Vydra opened the scoring for Derby. Somewhat subdued celebrations from the Czech Republic international were met with loud boos from the East Stand Royals faithful.

However, it was Reading who looked most likely to score with Yann Kermogant’s powerful header saved well by Scott Carson early in the first half.

Derby led by the single goal for the most part of the match and the taunts from the travelling fans were louder and louder as full-time approached.

But their frustration was relieved in the very last minute as Roy Beerens delivered a decent cross for George Evans to earn us a vital point.

Derby have been strong in recent seasons, but they currently languish two points above the relegation zone, having won just a single game in their last 10.

If Rams’ ‘manager-in-exile’ Nigel Pearson was not suspended by the club as he currently is, his position would still be under scrutiny.

Reading, on the other hand, are sitting comfortably in eighth in the Championship table, with a trip to QPR up next after the international break.

Meanwhile, I’m not surprised we sold our entire ticket allocation for the FL Cup tie at Arsenal towards the end of the month.

The prices are incredibly good value at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions.

Sadly for those who still seek tickets, our full allocation, including the extra allocation given to us, sold out on Wednesday.

This means 5,306 Reading fans will be making the short journey to the Emirates, hoping for revenge after losing to the Gunners in the 2015 FA Cup semi final at Wembley.

I’ll be one of them. URZ!
