READING FC Women head coach Kelly Chambers is hoping to capitalise on three successive home matches at Adams Park.

Royals host Birmingham City Ladies this Sunday followed by Notts County Ladies a week later, with both matches kicking off at 2pm.

Chambers's side then host current Women's Super League 1 leaders Manchester City Women on the evening of Wednesday, August 3, with a 7.45pm ko.

And Chambers said: "The current WSL schedule is quite bizarre, everyone knows that, and many coaches and players in the game have previously voiced their own frustrations with it. But every club is in the same boat.

"We have a good but tough run of games over the next couple of weeks but it’s nice to have some home games and have a run of games to try and get a bit of momentum, even if they are in short succession.

"I know I am looking forward to these games and I definitely know my players are because we haven’t had many and they have been training extremely hard."

Captain Kirsty McGee has a similar aapproach to the triple header at Adams Park, saying: "The fixtures are what they are, you can’t change them, so we’ve got to work very hard, recover well and focus on these games one at a time.

"All of them will be challenging games, but that’s something our squad will respond to."

Reading FC Women have played in front of four-figure crowds this season, and Chambers is hoping for a good turnout for their next three matches.

"I know we will have a great turn out just because we have some fantastic fans," she declared.

"It’s a lot to ask fans to commit to three games in 10 days, but we haven’t had a home game since May 2nd so I am hoping they are as excited as us to get down to Adams Park.

"I know the fans will be our 12th player on the day to help us build on what we have achieved so far and continue to compete for every point."

A slight groin strain has prevented new signing Remi Allen from making her first appearance for the club this season.

But the talented midfielder is likely to be fit this weekend and could make her debut against her former club.

Allen said: “I really can’t wait to make my debut for Reading, it’s been a tough few weeks of training but I feel ready and I’m raring to go.

"Obviously my debut could potentially come against Birmingham which adds that extra little spice to the game for me."
