READING FC are poised to sign Joseph Mendes from Le Havre – but will also see Aaron Tshibola move to Aston Villa.
Royals have agreed a deal with the French Ligue 2 outfit for 25-year-old striker Mendes.
The Reading Chronicle understands the move will be completed as soon as possible, with Mendes set to sign a two-year contract.
It is thought Royals paid a fee for the forward who grabbed nine goals and one assist last season as Le Havre missed out on promotion to the top flight to Metz on goal difference.
Reading boss Jaap Stam recently admitted he needs to strengthen up front after losing a string of attacking players over the summer.
Meanwhile, Tshibola, 21, is in the Midlands today for a medical at Villa ahead of his £5 million move from the Madejski Stadium.
The deal will almost certainly be completed within the next day or so.
