HAL Robson-Kanu has riled Reading FC supporters by stating leaving the club was 'one of the best decisions of my career.'

The 27-year-old let his contract run down after 12 years with the Royals and became a free agent at the end of last season.

Robson-Kanu has been in superb form for surprise semi-finalists Wales during Euro 2016, with his spectacular individual strike helping Chris Coleman's side sink Belgium 3-1 during Friday's quarter final.

As a result he claims to have received offers from 'all around the world,' while Premier League champions Leicester City, Swansea City, Newcastle United and Celtic have also been heavily linked with him.

But his comments in the aftermath of Wales' win against Belgium are sure to anger some Reading supporters.

“There are offers from around the world,” he said. "I've made no secret of my desire to play in the Premier League and if that's the best place for me then I'll be there.

"I made a decision to run my contract at Reading down. I've been there 12 years, given a lot of service and felt it was the best decision for myself and my career to decide where I go next.

“It's probably one of the best decisions of my life.”

Robson-Kanu also confirmed he had been a target for a number of 'bigger clubs' while he was a Reading player.

“I've been aware of clubs coming in for me in the past, bigger clubs and for whatever reason it didn't happen so it's probably one of the best decisions of my life,” he added.

"It's funny, a lot of people are making a big deal of it. I had offers before the tournament started. Good offers from good, progressive clubs, but I made a decision to wait until after the tournament."

Meanwhile, Reading full-back Chris Gunter will be forced to miss his brother's wedding in Mexico later this week as Wales prepare to take on Portugal in the semi final in Lyon this Wednesday.
