FT Reading fall to defeat once again. A bad night and the sooner this season is over the better.

90' Clayton Donaldson is one-on-one with Adam Federici but the keeper prevails to keep Reading in it.

83'GOAL! Birmingham lead. Clayton Donaldson plants a near post header beyond Adam Federici.

78' Demarai Gray - who scored a hat-trick against Reading in December - comes on and a minute later he dribbles past Michael Hector and Chris Gunter before seeing his low effort saved by the outstretched leg of Adam Federici.

That save is met by huge cheers from the Madjeski Stadium crowd!

75' Nathaniel Chalobah's stinging drive is palmed away by Darren Randolph. A minute later he pushes away a Jack Stacey curler. Better from Reading.

72' Close! Reading call for a penalty as Nick Blackman is barged in the back but there's nothing doing from Lee Mason.

63' Double change for Reading as Kwesi Appiah and Jack Stacey come on for Garath McCleary and Jamie Mackie.

60' Reading again enjoying a lot of possession but their struggling to create chances in this half. Dare I say it...We could be heading for another 0-0.

46' We're back underway ...

HT A good half by Reading. They've enjoyed the better chances and forced Darren Randolph into some good saves. They just need a goal to their names! Five of the last seven at the Madejski have ended with a blank...they can't let that make it to six!

36' Reading are enjoying the lions share of possession here but Birmingham just proved that they're still a threat. Paul Caddis' corner was met by Jonathan Grounds but his header was well saved by Adam Federici.

32 Two great efforts from Nathaniel Chalobah test Darren Randolph twice in succession.

His first effort is palmed away by the Birmingham keeper before Mackie's cross is cleared and Chalobah returns it with interest but it's again saved.

25' Chance! Garath McCleary is enjoying himself tonight and he cuts inside Jonathan Grounds before unleashing a pile driver that Darren Randolph has to push away for a corner.

24' Close! Nathaniel Chalobah does brilliantly to keep a corner alive and Jamie Mackie's stab towards goal is blocked out to Nick Blackman. His fizzing drive is destined for the net but it hits a Birmingham defender and is cleared to safety.

21' Chance for Reading. Jem Karacan finds his way into the box and dances past a challenge before setting up Jamie Mackie who drills a low shot wide.

15' Diego Fabbrini cuts inside Chris Gunter and forces his way into the box but the Welshman recovers to block Fabbrini's shot for a corner.

13' A decent chance for Reading as Jake Cooper's raking ball is controlled by Garath McCleary. He cuts inside but his left-footed shot from the edge of the area is scuffed wide.

5' Reading on the front foot early on. Steve Clarke has opted for a 4-3-3 formation with Nathan Ake, Nathaniel Chalobah and Jem Karacan in midfield. Nick Blackman is playing from the left with Jamie Mackie up top and Garath McCleary to his right.

1' We're underway...

19:56 The teams are out and what a reception for Adam Federici. He gets a huge cheer when his name is read out then a massive round of applause. Absolutely brilliant to see.

19:30 Just over half hour until kick-off. It's a lovely evening here at the Madejski Stadium.

19:10 The team news is in and there's four changes for Reading as Jem Karacan, Nathan Ake, Jake Cooper and Nick Blackman come into the team.

A nice blend of youth and experience as the Royals look to grab just their second win in 11 league games

Reading Federici; Gunter, Cooper, Hector, Obita, Ake, Chalobah, Karacan, McCleary, Blackman, Mackie. Subs: Andersen, Kelly, Akpan, Norwood, Stacey, Appiah, Novackovich.

Birmingham Randolph, Grounds, Gleeson, Donaldson, Thomas, Tesche, Kiernan, Spector, Morrison, Caddis, Fabbrini. Subs: Doyle, Cotterill, Novak, Shinnie, Davis, Gray, Dyer.

18:30 Team news is about half hour away here. Hal Robson-Kanu, Danny Williams and Pavel Pogrebnyak are likely to miss out after picking up injuries against Arsenal, whilst Simon Cox, Jem Karacan and Nathan Ake are in line for a start.

18:15 Of course, tonight has been dubbed #FlagsforFeds to show support for Adam Federici after his howler on Saturday.

There's sure to be a lot of Australian flags in the crowd and why not? The Aussie stopper has been one of Reading's best players this season and deserves all the acclaim he gets tonight.

18:00 Hello and welcome to live coverage of the Royals' penultimate home game of the season against Birmingham City.

It is fair to say the game is a bit of a comedown from the highs, lows and nail-biting tension of Saturday's trip to Wembley but Steve Clarke will be looking for his side to take the positives from that performance and turn it into three points tonight.

Reading are mathematically safe from relegation after Millwall's defeat at Blackburn last night, but there'll be no easing off from a determined Clarke.
