AS Rugby World Cup fever sweeps the globe, London Irish are attempting to get more kids involved in the sport by offering thousands of free tickets to children from 42 local schools.

The initiative is supported by the Mayor of Reading, Deborah Edwards, and means kids will be able to watch Irish free of charge in three home matches - Newcastle Falcons (September 24) and Worcester Warriors (October 9) in the Premiership and Newcastle in the LV Cup (October 23).

Councillor Edwards said: "I want to encourage all of our young people to take up a sport and I am delighted that London Irish are supporting me with this great ticket offer.

"Rugby is a fantastic team game and I hope Reading families will take up the opportunity to come and see our London Irish team in action. Once again London Irish is showing their commitment to the Reading community."

Parents interested in taking their children along to a game should contact their school administration teams for details of how to obtain tickets.

All children must be accompanied by an adult - maximum of three children per adult - and selected seating is available.
