LONDON Irish assistant coach Clark Laidlaw is calling on the club’s fans to play a leading role during their top-of-the-table clash at home to Yorkshire Carnegie on Saturday (3pm).

The two unbeaten sides go head-to-head on what promises to be an explosive Bonfire Night encounter, with Exiles heading into it on the back of their best display of the season.

Nick Kennedy’s men ran in nine tries during a dominant 62-12 success at London Scottish on Sunday – Tommy Bell leading the way with two tries and an imperious kicking display as he collected 32 points.

And speaking ahead of the Yorkshire clash, Laidlaw admitted: “Our supporters have been superb and have stuck by us home and away this season – hopefully we can give them a good performance this weekend and maintain our good start.

“We’re starting to click when it comes to executing our plan moves which is really pleasing from an attack point of view.

“It’s undoubtedly going to be a very tough game against a Yorkshire side, who have similar goals to us in respect of wanting to get back to the Premiership.”
