West Berks seniors’ attempt to win the M4 Seniors Winter League for the third time in the five years history of the competition was thwarted when they lost the semi final against Badgemore Park on the first extra hole of the final game on Monday. Leading the match 2-1 and one up in the last game, West Berks lost the final hole to a birdie.

With the match halved Badgemore won on the first extra hole.

The seniors also played at home against Donnington Grove for the annual ‘Cer am dano e’ Trophy in memory of Elfed Davies.

As Elfed was member number 11 at West Berks and the secretary at Donnington Grove it was fitting that the match ended 3-3.

This means this year’s competition will be decided in the second leg at Donnington Grove in July.
