MARIO Atkinson claimed top spot in Division One of the midweek stableford at Caversham Heath last Wednesday.

Atkinson (17hcp) scored 37 points (halves of 17 and 20 points) to finish one clear of Michael Beaumont (8hcp).

Steven Painter (18hcp) was third with 35 points.

Beaumont lost his chance of victory when he doubled bogey the last hole and failed to get a point, while Painter’s round included two nil returns.

Division Two winner was John Holdsworth (27hcp) with 34 points (halves of 20 and 14 points).

Colin Parkes (21hcp) was runner-up with 33 points (halves of 15 and 18 points) and Jim Willson (24hcp) was third with 32 points (halves of 13 and 19 points).

Twos were recorded by Painter (8th hole), Tony Gonzalez (13th) and Beaumont (17th).

The fourball of Calvin Hutt, Leon Hutt, Paul West and Craig Hutt returned 174 points to win the Pink Ball Competition on Saturday.

Second were the team of Shaun Warton, Andy Holmes, Andy Ward and Stuart Webb with 156 points, while third were Nick Ford, Edward Houghton, Sean Houghton and Carl Bache with 151 points.
