KEVIN Payne (11hcp) scored 37 points to win Calcot Park’s senior section Christmas Stableford on Friday.
He finished a point clear of runner-up Steve Clifton (16 hcp), who edged out Ralph Smith (19 hcp) on count-back.
- SANDY Miller, Steve Cox and Kevin Wilkins won the Christmas Waltz competition at West Berks with 84 points.
Peter Gelernter, Giles Feltham and Gary Robinson were second on 78, one shot clear of Jane Brackenbury, Mick Gregorace and Jason Kendal who were third.
Brackenbury, Robinson and Tony Coventry were nearest the pin on holes three, four and 17.
Meanwhile, Mary Harwood and Gale McAuley beat Ann Johnson and Heather Green, and Renee Wheeler and Miller beat Jan Francis and Georgie Seaman in the Ladies’ Winter League.
