IN-FORM Colin Harrison won the Crawford Cup at West Berks, a medal competition open to players who have recorded a score matching or better than CSS (competition standard scratch) in a qualifying competition during the year.

Having won the midweek stableford last week and second in the midweek medal on Wednesday he shot a gross 87, nett 68, to win from Nick Bishop who was two shots behind in second place.

Tony Athawes was a further shot behind in third.

Meanwhile, Jane Brackenbury and Jason Kendal won the mixed knockout competition, beating Tina Mulford and Stuart King in the final.

High winds last Wednesday made it tough going in the seniors’ medal but Alan Capps stormed home by a clear seven shots with a gross 89, nett 70. Harrison beat Nick Jones on count-back to take second place.

Jan Francis won the ladies’ Saturday medal with nett 77, while Gale McAuley took second place from Heather Green, who was third.

In the team events, the men’s Saturday team won 5-1 at home to North Wilts, the seniors recorded a 6-0 win at home to Witney Lakes while the vets lost 4-1 away to Bicester.
