CALCOT Park Seniors’ captain Chris Millard said he was delighted to have won the Reading Golf League in his year of captaincy and praised his team members for their efforts.
Following 12 games – with six in a side and playing home and away against six other clubs – Calcot topped the chart with 42 points and finished well clear of runners-up Goring & Streatley, who collected 37½.
It was the first time Calcot had won the competition since 2010.
- THE Berks Bucks & Oxon men’s Order of Merit was won by Calcot member and scratch golfer, Shane Slatter. He finished three places ahead of Ben Platt from East Berks to snatch the first spot by the narrowest of margins.
Slatter was presented with the trophy by BB&O President, Alistair Booth.
Meanwhile, fellow Calcot member, Melan Dhaubadel, finished third.
