GARETH Goodall (6hcp) claimed the Division One top prize in the Weekend Stableford on Saturday. He scored 38 points, one clear of the runner-up Jonathan Fleming (4hcp) who beat John Downey (8hcp) and James Walker (7hcp) on countback.

Division Two winner was Tim Bicknell (14hcp) with 42 points. Wayne Mayers (12hcp) was second with 40 points and Jonathan Burnett (16hcp) was third on countback from Mark Pattle (13hcp), both with 39.

Jason Springer (20hcp) topped Division Three with 39 points. Second was Adam Baker (24hcp), on countback from Nick Wilson (22hcp) and Stuart Adamson (20hcp), all with 35 points.

Twos were recorded by Damian Carvile, David Cuthbertson, Barry Reynolds and James Walker (all on the 8th hole); Bicknell, Seamus Smith and David Stankard (all on the 13th hole), and by Peter Curtis (an eagle two on the par-four third hole).

Bicknell received a two-shot cut in handicap while Goodall, Burnett, Pattle and Springer all received a one-shot cut.

David Cumming (28hcp) stormed through his back nine to record a superb 24 points (including six three-point holes) to finish with 39 points to take the Senior Roll-Up Championship and the Oakley Trophy. Neil Scott (17hcp) was runner-up, on countback from Robert Davidson (16hcp), both with 38 points.

CAVERSHAM Heath play host to the Pentahotels Championship – a 54-hole PGA EuroPro Tour event with a prize fund of £46,735 next week (August 16-18).

On Tuesday, the EuroPro Tour Pro Am competition acts as a curtain raiser to the main event.
