There were pars and birdies galore in Division One of the Weekend Stableford at Caversham Heath on Sunday.

Mike Capaldi (10hcp) recorded 11 pars and one birdie and halves of 20 and 21 points as he totalled 41 points.

Runner-up Archie Smith (4hcp) recorded even more pars, 12, plus three birdies, but could only muster 40 points.

Third was Matt Robertson (3hcp) on countback from Callum Peart (6hcp), both with 39 points.

Robertson rattled up 14 pars and two birdies while Peart had nine pars and four birdies. Peart lost his chance of glory after a bogey on the 16th and a double bogey on the last.

Former Reading FC player Kenny Price (11hcp) claimed the honours in Division Two with 43 points (halves of 23 and 20).

Luke O’Brien (14hcp) was second with 42 points (halves of 23 and 19) and Simon Walker (12hcp) was third with 40.

Division Three winner was Adrian Ford (24hcp) with 37 points (22 on the back nine) – two nil returns hampered his front nine, but a birdie for four points on the 17th helped him to victory. Runner-up was Joseph Lawrence (20hcp) with 36 points and third was Jane Weller (22hcp) with 35.

Twos were recorded by Adam Paul Baker and Peart (8th hole), Dennis Sunderland (13th) and Michael Beaumont, Adrian Ford, Gareth Johns and Shaun Wharton (all on the 17th hole).

Neil Scott (18hcp) took the Division One honours in the Midweek Medal (June 28) with nett 70.

David Stankard (6hcp) was runner-up, on countback from Jose Fernandez-Moure (16hcp), both with nett 71.

Niall Ward (22hcp) won Division Two with nett 78, although he almost blew it with a quad bogey on the 16th hole and another one on the last. Caroline Dover (26hcp) was second with nett 79. Third was Javier Dieguez (20hcp), on countback from John Holdsworth (27hcp), both with nett 80.

Twos were recorded by Damian Colville, Scott, Chris Stacey and Jon Winstanley (8th hole), and Paul Lobban, Matt Robertson and Winstanley (all on the 17th hole).
