AARON Puckett (9hcp) held off 114 rivals to win the annual President’s Trophy competition at Calcot Park on Saturday.
He secured victory with 43 stableford points, earning a comfortable win from runner-up James Bolton (15hcp), who totalled 39. Third on countback was Nigel Clark with 38 points.
There was also a President’s Prize for the club’s junior section, which was held on Friday.
It was won by 16-year-old Joshua Chapman (16hcp), who scored 38 points.
Runner-up was Nicholas Sullivan with 36 points, while 11-year-old Drew Rolfe, who played but could not win the competition due to handicap restrictions, was given a special mention in scoring 42 points in his very first full 18-hole round of golf. The ever-improving Rolfe has a junior handicap of 45.
