JANE Brackenbury and Tony Coventry won the Gamhall Trophy mixed greensomes competition at West Berks with 41 points.

There was a three-way tie on 39 points for second place with Gale and Tom McAuley and Heather Green and Kevin Hopwood edging out Ann Davies and Jock Douglas to take second and third place respectively.

Geoff Pudner won the men’s senior medal with gross 88, nett 71, Bob Fagg was second with 90, nett 72, while Graham Mort’s 96, nett 73, beat Andrew Kerr on count-back to take third place.

Simone Diamond won the ladies’ midweek medal with a nett 78. Susie Boultwood with nett 81 beat Georgie Seaman on count-back to take second place.

West Berks Seniors made it five wins in five matches when they beat Ogbourne Downs away by 3½ to 2½.

Meanwhile, Coventry and Jason Kendal won their first round match in the national Daily Mail Foursomes against Donnington Grove and will play a pairing from Studley Wood in the second round.
