CHRISTOPHER Searle claimed the Division One top prize in the Midweek Stableford at Caversham Heath.

Searle (28hcp) recorded 43 points (halves of 21 and 22) including nine pars and one birdie. And it could have been even better as he also had a nil return on one hole.

Runner-up was Seamus Smith (3hcp) with 41 points. He had halves of 22 and 19 points, recording 10 pars and five birdies.

However, he bogeyed his last hole. Third was Michael Beaumont (6hcp) with 39 points (11 pars and two birdies).

Division Two winner was Michael Gennace (20hcp) with 43 points. Halves of 23 and 20 points included an eagle three on the par 5 fourth hole and one birdie.

The Ladies' Stableford was won by Jane Weller (22hcp) on countback from Kathy North (29hcp), both with 33 points. Weller had a bogey on the last which should have proved very costly, however, North treble bogeyed the same hole.

Third was Sarla Read (20hcp) with 31 points.

Division One of the Captains' Birthday Bash competition resulted in victory for Andrew Parker, on countback from Anne Smith, both with 38 points.
