The score was tied at 1-1 following an even game but five goals followed in a frantic extra-time to see Marcus Richardson’s side progress to the next round of the Bluefin Sports Challenge Cup.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring as Anthony White headed home Stephen Peacock’s cross to give Ibis the early advantage.

Jordan Brown should’ve helped double the lead seven minutes later when White was square for a tap in but he fired at Gary Aulsberry in the Bracknell goal instead of passing.

Charlie Evanson fired across goal from a tight angle as the home side started to find their feet.

He went close again in the 55th minute as he headed over the bar from close range, before Bracknell were given the chance to draw level from the penalty spot 15 minutes later.

Andre Kelly was brought down by Rob Tebby in the Ibis goal and Sam Whiting stepped up to send Tebby the wrong way.

Bracknell had grown into the contest and it was an end-to-end game following the equaliser.

White went close to restoring Ibis’ lead twice before the hosts came close to grabbing a winner of their own in the 83rd minute.

Kennie Chamberlain’s drilled effort was just kept out by Tebby before he got back up to magnificently keep out Bradshaw’s rebound and ensure the game went to extra-time.

It was a slow start to the added 30 minutes as a solitary White effort was all the period had to show for itself in the first 12 minutes, before bursting into life with five goals in the remaining 18 minutes.

A quick-fire double from Ibis put them in total command as Tristan Campbell netted before Aulsberry’s clearance hit White for a third Ibis goal 60 seconds later.

Ibis manager Richardson came off the bench for a late cameo and set up Brown to make it 4-1 in the 110th minute as Ibis found their feet.

Bracknell kept pushing forward and got their reward shortly after when Jake White headed home for the Robins from a Whiting free-kick.

The home side pushed forward late on in a bid to force an unlikely penalty shoot-out but they were caught on the break as Brown completed his hat-trick.

Ibis return to league action when they travel to Brimscombe & Thrupp on Saturday (3pm).
