Royals face a trip to John Smith Stadium on the weekend of January 4.
Last night’s draw failed to excite many Royals fans who were hoping for a glamour tie.
Ticket prices will be announced by Reading FC shortly.
Royals won 1-0 away against the Terriers in the Championship last season thanks to a goal from on-loan Billy Sharp.
The sides drew 1-1 in the return fixture at Madejski Stadium after an early goal from Terriers’ Nahki Wells was cancelled out by a Pavel Pogrebnyak penalty.
But Reading were dumped out of the FA Cup at the third round stage last season following a 1-0 defeat at Brighton.
Meanwhile, Reading have handed a trial to Dutch striker, Nasser El Khayati.
The 25-year-old is spending a week with the Royals after scouts spotted him playing for Dutch semi-professional outfit, Kozakken Boys, where he has scored nine times in 15 appearances this season.
